Have you ever found yourself ordering the same thing over and over, craving it all the time? Well maybe it’s time you admitted your “food crush” like Michele did after she found herself dreaming about her local bakery’s fresh granola bars every morning. She was ordering one everyday, so she decided to try her hand at making her own granola. By 2006, this self taught baker turned her hobby into a business, and “Michele’s Granola” became the food crush of Maryland. Just 8 years later, her business has grown from a personal kitchen startup to a quality facility producing 5,000 pounds of handcrafted granola per week! Her expert team packages and distributes the product to over “200 community markets, grocery stores, and food service facilities.”  Each bagful is freshly baked, without any preservatives and is only made using 100% organic whole wheat oats.

You can choose from varieties such as Ginger Hemp, Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Raisin, Cherry Chocolate, and Original, as well as a seasonal blend. I started out with her original, and loved each little crumb I managed to sneak before my 3-year-old devoured the rest. But I have my eye on Cherry Chocolate for my next sampling, and I might just keep this one a secret, hidden under my side of the bed for late night snacking. Honestly, I can’t think of a better tasting, crunchier, more perfectly sweetened granola than Michele’s. I’m so glad she’s a Maryland local!     Again, am enjoying your highlights of local businesses. I have to admit my eye latched onto your menu this week. I recently discovered and fell in love with chicken masala and am eager to try the recipe you linked to sometime. Thanks for sharing–you have the most amazing-sounding meals going on over at your place. 🙂

      Thank you!! I was absolutely blown away at how delicious that Chicken Masala was! No tweaking needed with that recipe! {Though I did add a little less pepper than was called for.} I wish I could say we always end up eating what I plan in my menu, but life does happen, and we eat our fair share of cereal and pancakes for dinner 😉
